Driver and Training Services

UKIFDA offers accredited training to support safe, compliant and efficient operations across the liquid fuels distribution sector.

As an approved training centre and member of the National Logistics Training Consortium, we deliver courses that help raise operational standards across the industry.

We support members in meeting regulatory requirements, adopting best practices and developing staff skills through a wide range of practical and professional courses. Our approach promotes self-regulation and continuous improvement through structured development.

Core Driver Training

UKIFDA provides ADR, CPC, and PDP courses. The Driver Training Resource streamlines compliance by combining key annual requirements—an ADR refresher course will, in most cases, satisfy CPC and PDP training for the year, saving members time and cost. Many CPC courses include the PDP annual refresher, and practical PDP training can be delivered directly.
Driver training is managed through a dedicated platform that allows members to book, track, and monitor certification status, with automated reminders for renewals.

In addition to specific driver training courses, we also offer various industry training courses:

Depot and Management Training

Courses include ADR awareness, Depot Manager and Supervisor training, and Permit to Work procedures.

Professional Development Courses

We offer training in Time Management, Understanding Group Dynamics, and The 5 Ps of Effective Meetings, alongside work-related courses such as First Aid, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Workplace Harassment Awareness, and many more.

Customised Training and the UKIFDA Training Academy

Bespoke courses can be developed to meet specific member needs and are delivered via the UKIFDA Training Academy. The online platform enables members to manage, track, and book training courses, with automated notifications for renewals and certification status.

Full members of UKIFDA are fuel distributors operating across the UK and Ireland. These companies deliver liquid fuels directly to end users, serving domestic households as well as commercial, agricultural, marine and construction customers. All full members operate rigid tankers, with many also running articulated vehicles to meet a wide range of delivery needs.

Associate members are organisations that supply products, services or expertise to the liquid fuel distribution sector. They can be based anywhere in the world and play a vital role in supporting the industry’s operational, technical and commercial success.

UKIFDA’s role as the industry body is to support both distributors and associate members to run their businesses safely, sustainably and successfully. We act as a unified voice for the sector, engaging with the Government and key stakeholders, championing members’ interests, and ensuring important policy updates are communicated quickly and clearly.
